Original vintage poster edited by the Spanish Ministry of Information Tourism. Scene depicts Goya’s painting “Pradera de San Isidro”.
About the painting:
The Meadow of San Isidro/Pradera de San Isidro (1788) is a sketch by Francisco de Goya, painted for a series of cartoons for tapestries intended for the decoration of the bedroom of the princesses of the El Pardo Palace. With the death of Charles III the entire project was left unfinished, and the painting, planned to measure seven and a half metres in length, was left in a detailed sketch. The sketch became the property of the Dukes of Osuna until 1896, when it was acquired by the Prado Museum. Despite its small size, it has become the iconographic model of Goyaesque Madrid.
